Cookie policy

Draft. This text has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. It describes how the service works today and may change before it opens to the public.
What we are talking about
A cookie, or local browser storage, is a small file saved on your device. Some are needed for the service to work; others measure the audience and are only used with your consent.
What is necessary, with no consent
These items are not used to track you and do not require consent:
- the session of the signed-in organiser and that of the guest (anonymous identifier created when joining);
- the chosen language;
- your choice in the cookie banner;
- on the guest’s device, the queue of photos to upload and a flag that lets the upload resume (local storage and IndexedDB);
- the Cloudflare Turnstile anti-bot check on the sign-in page.
Audience measurement, with your consent
To understand how the site is used and improve it, we may use PostHog (hosted in the European Union). It is only loaded after you accept and is not used on an event’s guest page. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and the service works the same way.
Choosing and changing your mind
Your choice is saved on your device. You can change it at any time with the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing the site’s data in your browser.
Error tracking
Technical errors may be sent to Sentry so that we can fix them. This does not use a cookie and contains no personal data.
