Terms of use

Last updated: October 22, 2026

Draft. This text has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. It describes how the service works today and may change before it opens to the public.

What these terms are for

Sunopic lets the organiser of an event gather, in a shared album, the photos and videos sent by their guests from their phones, with a QR code, with no app and no account for guests.

These terms apply to anyone who uses the service: the organiser, who creates the event with an account, and the guest, who takes part without an account. By using the service you accept them; a guest accepts them by ticking the box when joining.

The organiser

The organiser creates their account with their e-mail address (sign-in link or Google account). They are responsible for their account and their event.

They decide who can take part, whether the gallery is opened to guests, whether photos must be approved first and whether a guest is blocked. They agree to tell the people they invite that their photos and videos will be visible to them and, if they open the gallery, to the other guests.

The guest

A guest can send photos and videos to the event they reached through the QR code or the link. They may give a first name, which is optional and is shown to the organiser next to their photos.

A guest can delete their own photos and videos at any time from “My photos”.

What you send

You must only send content you have the right to share. The following is forbidden:

  • unlawful, violent or hateful content, or sexual content shared without consent;
  • content that infringes someone’s privacy, image or rights;
  • files that are not photos or videos, and anything meant to disrupt the service.

Your rights over your content

You remain the owner of your photos and videos. You grant the organiser and Sunopic the right to store them, to prepare reduced versions, to show them in the event’s album, slideshow and sharing pages, and to make them downloadable, only for the retention period of the event and to run the service.

For the same purpose, display versions and thumbnails are created without GPS coordinates. Original files, kept with the paid plan, stay as you sent them and may contain their metadata, including location.

Moderation and reporting

The organiser can hide, refuse or delete content and block a guest. Any guest can report content. Sunopic may remove content, or suspend an event or an account, if these terms or the law are breached.

Availability and retention

The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of permanent availability. Albums are kept 30 days after the event on the free plan and 12 months on the Event plan, then permanently deleted, with e-mail reminders to the organiser before the album closes and seven days to recover an expired album by extending it.

We advise you to download the album before the end of the retention period: a deletion is final.

Liability

Sunopic uses reasonable means to protect and keep your content, but cannot guarantee that nothing will be lost. We cannot be held liable for content sent by guests; our liability is limited to the extent the law allows.

[To be validated by a lawyer: limitation of liability, clauses applying to consumers.]

Changes to the terms and applicable law

These terms may change; the version in force is the one on this page. They are governed by French law. In case of a dispute, [To be completed: competent court] has jurisdiction, subject to the rules protecting consumers.
